What works for you?

I work in three ways, allowing you to have a tailored service that works best for you.

Phone therapy

Phone therapy is the most popular. Whether you want to be at home, out walking, or somewhere else, we can speak in confidence.

This works extremely well for most clients. Most of all, it gives you the freedom to be away from everyone, wherever you choose to be, moving and talking in privacy.

Face to face therapy

Some clients prefer to see me face-to-face. Usually they come to my counselling room in Guildford which is at my home. The room is quiet and comfortable.

I am also sometimes able to visit a client’s home; this can be discussed when we arrange sessions.

Walking therapy

Walking therapy is great for those who prefer to be outside. We choose where we meet. On rainy days, we can meet in a quiet coffee shop.

Some like the fact that, when walking, we both face ahead, making it less intense and more relaxed.

Therapy Types

Person-centred

A style of therapy that works from the theory that we are all in charge of our own growth, and know instinctively what is healthy for us, if only we can create the right conditions. I work with you as a fellow explorer, to develop yourself and find a life that suits your unique nature.

Cognitive Behavioural

A style of therapy full of ideas and experiments designed to tease us into gently escaping our comfort zone. It is a very rational, practical form of therapy based on the theory that we are all mini-scientists able to experiment with our lives, and discover more about our own abilities.

Psychodynamic

Psychodynamic

A style of therapy focused on the inner and interpersonal dynamics that make us who we are, from evolution, through childhood, and beyond.
